Here's some brilliant advice from one of my favorite bloggers, Mark Hanna, on recruiting:
No, not the one where you recruit somebody if they fog a mirror. This is
the one where you look yourself in the mirror and say, "Yep, I've done
everything I said I would do!"I sat down to write this week's blog and started
going through the archives and as I was reading them it occurred to me that I
have written about one and a half dozen action items that you could/should be
doing. In addition, so many of you have responded postively saying, "Yes! I'll
do that." or "I'm going to begin that next week!"Well, how have you done? Did
you make a commitment and follow through with it, or did you allow someone or
something to steer you off course? Here's a list of some of the items, programs,
initiatives that I've written about since the first of the year. Have
you:
Eliminated (or greatly reduced) print advertising?
Reviewed and
managed the WLN leads at least weekly?
Begun (planned to begin) the "Make
Your Market" campaign?
Aggressively recruited brand new agents?
Purchased and use a Flip or similar video camera?
Instituted and/or
enforce minimum activity standards?
Instituted and/or enforce minimum
production standards?
Instituted and/or enforce professional standards?
Completed a written Business Plan (even if it's the mini-plan in the
Weichert Reporting System)?
Started a blog?
A regularly scheduled i-Call
session each week?
Complete the weekly and monthly information in the
Weichert Reporting System?
Started using "Vyew" for Internet-based
presentations?
Begun to routinely manage price improvements?
Moved the
bottom 1/3 of your agent roster?
Made everyday a "Shay Day"?
If some of
these are not familiar to you, please go through the blog's archives and, if you
need additional help or information, contact your Regional Service Manager or
Business Development Consultant.
